Objective
Properly assemble the throttle cable, return spring, retainer, and slide for the Dellorto carburetor used in the Phantom Wraith 85 engine kit.
Required Components
Component | Description |
Dellorto Throttle Slide | Metal cylindrical slide with internal needle housing. |
White Plastic Retainer | Disk that locks the needle securely in place inside the slide. |
Return Spring | Maintains downward pressure on the slide for crisp throttle return. |
Throttle Cable | Inner wire with a barrel slug at the end. |
Instruction Manual Downloads
Insert gas needle into carb slide.
Feed cable through rubber housing boot
Feed cable through cable housing and top of carb.
Confirm cable housing is seated and slide back boot.
Feed cable through center of spring.
Push down and hold spring.
Position white plastic cable lock with flat side out and notch facing cable.
Fit cable lock on spring with throttle cable in the side notch. Continue holding the cable lock down.
Insert cable into the hole in carburetor slide.
Feed cable all the way through the carburetor slide
Shift cable down into throttle cable lock on the carburetor slide
Confirm the throttle cable notch is locked into the carburetor slide lock from the bottom.
Slide spring and white plastic cable lock into the carburetor slide with notch locking throttle cable into place.
Reinstall slide and top insuring the slide orientation fits all the way down into the carb.
